As leader, Hennie Otto came in fourth round of the European Tour, and while resisting to the excitement of his pursuers, the South African claimed his second victory on the tour which was his first since the Italian Open in 2008. “I was close to winning several times since, but I never managed to succeed”, he declared.
Two other guests of the prestigious Afrasia Golf Masters, Mauritius at Anahita, were great leaders of these four days of tournament: the Austrian, Bernd Wiesberger who finished second, and the French, Jean-Baptiste Gonnet, who was moving towards victory until the last lap but ranked in the 32nd place finally.
All these fine performances are very good signs before the second annual professional meeting of Mauritius, which will see the group on the beautiful course at the Four Seasons Golf Club at Anahita, with the best players of the Allianz Golf Tour and 10 guest players of the European Tour. Among them are, Otto, Wiesberger and Gonnet as well as Gregory Havret, Christian Cévaër, Victor Dubuisson or Nicolas Colsaerts, the Belgian title holder who carries an impressive season on the tour and will be elated to keep his trophy.
Organized by Canal + Events, the Afrasia Golf Masters is a professional golf tournament that takes place in the form of stroke play. The first two rounds of the Alliance will be held on the 15th and 16th December, that is, the combination of a professional and an amateur (double classification). The professional tournament ends on Saturday, 17th December, 2011 and will be open to the public.
